Richard Crandall LCMHC, LADC

I am available Monday through Thursday 8am to 6pm and offer mental health and substance use counseling in the State of Vermont.

To set up an appointment you can call or email.

We should talk briefly to find out if working to gether feels okay. If you want to proceed I would email you a link that connects you with my office portal and you can complete some documents securely.

If you prefer I can mail the forms to you but you would have to complete them and mail them back to me before we proceed.

We would schedule a time to meet by secure video platform and talk further. Assessments take 3-5 sessions depending upon what you need. If you are looking for weekly or every other week counseling for a while that maybe possible. My first goal is to help you feel safe, secure and stabilized.

You and I will identify a path that helps you establish greater health. We work from strengths that help you feel better. After 3-5 sessions I will hopefully have enough information to make an assessment and will have a better idea of how we can move formward. Whether that is to help you reduce your anxiety and depression or to get sober it's your choice. If you want help with understanding or experiencing the 12 steps of recovery we can work on that together.

Counseling
In my private practice my intention is to provide a safe environment that allows the client to feel at ease and not judged. This form of reflective life process work allows
the inner feelings to arise in the present moment from the mind or body which often leads to a healing process.

Specifically my practice of Substance Use Counseling utilizes evidenced based approaches of mindfulness and 12 step facilitation. Polarity Wellness counseling supports the client in his or her own healing process of enhancing a healthy life force, greater awareness and expression of feelings that arise in the moment from the mind or body. Clients may be asked to complete homework of Polarity yoga or light stretching, journaling, and meditation to reduce social anxiety or substance use. Typically in craniosacral therapy thoughts and feelings may be a brief update expressed before or after the session begins. However in Polarity Therapy 90 minutes can be utilized to discuss your life process in greater detail which may inform and contribute to a more complete healing session.
